Description: No dirty deed goes unnoticed in a seductive game of cat and mouse. But for Alec and Gaige, the wrong move could get them killed.
Alec Drummond didn’t make his billions by playing nice—or by playing much at all. When it comes to pleasure, Alec only has time for whatever’s quick and easy, which is exactly what he gets from his company’s hot new computer genius. But Gaige Owens isn’t some pushover. He pushes back, and it’s giving Alec a rush. The question is, could Gaige be the one who’s leaking trade secrets? Just to be safe, Alec keeps him close at hand . . . night and day.
Gaige never thought he’d roll over for a man like Alec again, but who could resist sex this mind-blowing? Then there’s the draw of Alec’s mysterious side: his cutthroat ambition, his covert CIA connections, and the murder in his past. For Gaige, a deeper look proves an irresistible temptation. But when Gaige and Alec are stripped of their defenses by an unseen danger, everything they don’t know could bring them closer together—or tear them apart. Only one thing is certain: Before it’s all over, someone’s going down.

Review on Cover to Cover Book and Blogging Blog

I have to admit … I have a major soft spot for office romances – even if said romance takes place pretty much everywhere but the office (except for about two scenes) like this book. I thoroughly enjoyed the banter  Alec and Gaige displayed and the originality in plot. If I explain the mystery-plot that happens into this book … it will make absolutely no sense. I know nothing about seed banks. But somehow, HelenKay managed to create a riveting and original mystery-esque story, with a uber confusing subject, and have it all work out and make sense.

I generally tend to enjoy overused tropes – like the Geek and the Billionaire Romances – so it might not mean much when I say that I loved how Alec and Gaige broke the mold on their cliché. They were not flat, ready-made characters rolled onto the pages from the cliché assembly line. They were as dynamic as dynamic can be … and I loved it. Characters who feel and sound and act real are surprisingly hard to come by in some light romance stories, and I’m thankful that I can now add HelenKay onto the list of approved non-flat character-writing authors. And the heat! The book was practically steaming in my hands when it came to the smutty and dirty parts … and I loved it :)

Joyfully Jay

Interviewer: We are following up with last year’s Most Eligible International Bachelor List in a where-are-they-now peek at bachelors who now might be off the market. First up, billionaire agribusinessman Alec Drummond, who usually refuses interviews, so we’re excited to have Alec and his partner, Gaige Owens.
Alec: Partner?
Gaige: Some people hate the word boyfriend.
Alec: I don’t.

Interviewer: So, how did you two meet?
Alec: When exactly did I agree to do an interview?
Gaige: I did.
Alec: We’re going to talk about this later.
Gaige: Sure we are. As to the question, we met at work.
Alec: That’s the story we’re using?
Gaige: It sounds better than I broke into his office to test his security.

Interviewer: Is that true?
Alec: Next question.

Interviewer: What is the quality you find most attractive in each other?
Gaige: Look at him. He’s all brooding, hot and cranky. Clearly the buttoned-up, dude-in-a-suit thing works for me.
Alec: I like Gaige’s honesty and his taste in men.

Interviewer: What is the one thing that Gaige does that annoys you above all others?
Alec: He agrees to do interviews without telling me.

Interviewer: If you could invent anything, what would it be?
Alec: A way to be done with this interview.
Gaige: You’re so pleasant. But really, his company has developed, patented and processed crops to create everything from food to fuel.
Alec: It’s sexy when you talk about my work.
Gaige: Really? Try this…corn derivatives.
Alec: Nice.

Interviewer: Okay. Marvel or DC?
Alec: I have no idea what you’re talking about.
Gaige: Marvel, unless you’re talking Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman trumps all others.

Interviewer: The rumor is the two of you live together. Where?
Gaige: Yes and Munich.
Alec: Why do you want to know?

Interviewer: Well, I guess we can confirm for our readers that you are officially off the market, Alec.Misconduct by Samantha Kane Exclusive Character Q&A Interview scene on Cover to Cover book and blogging blog by kat snark
Alec: Clearly.
Gaige: He better be.
Alec: I want to hear you talk about corn derivatives again.
Gaige: We’re definitely done here.
