Dancing in the Rain

Dancing in the Rain by Kelly Jamieson love letter banner Cover to Cover book blog

Hello, readers!

Today I have a Cover to Cover exclusive love letter from author Kelly Jamieson about her new book, Dancing in the Rain. I haven’t read the book yet – but after reading this sweet letter, I can’t wait to pick it up! Right after I find my kindle…

Dear Peyton,

I remember the moment I realized I love you. But that wasn’t when I started to love you.

I realized I love you the day Chloe got caught shoplifting. When we had to be a team and do the right thing for her. I realized how much I missed you, then. How empty my life was without you in it. My mom told me that being afraid of failing meant that I was missing out on all the fun in life. All the joy of living life fully. And all the love. I already knew I loved Chloe. But then I knew I loved you too. I wanted to be the man you deserved, and when you looked at me like you admired me for how I’d handled the shoplifting, when you told me I’d done the right thing when I was so worried that I’d screwed up…I realized how much your faith in me meant. I realized how much I needed not only your courage to tell me when I’ve fucked up but also your faith in me to do good.

And even though you’re the strongest woman I know, I wanted to take care of you. I wanted to protect you and share your burdens.

But that wasn’t the moment I fell in love with you. In truth, there wasn’t one particular moment that happened. It was a series of moments…when I saw your love for Chloe. Your love for your sister. Your courage in being there for both of them. How brave you were getting on that boat. When you talked about your work and I saw how smart you are. Probably I fell a little in love with you the first day I saw you and thought how uptight you were and yet how beautiful and what a great ass you had. Sorry. It’s the truth. You do have a great ass.

Love,

Description: Happily ever after’s aren’t just for fairy tales. In this heartfelt novel, a retired athlete must become a father to the daughter he never knew—just as he discovers the power of love with a woman who reignites his passions.

Drew Sellers is drowning in broken dreams and empty beer bottles. Hockey was his world, until a bum knee reduced him from superstar to has-been. Then he learns that, thanks to a one-night-stand back in college, he’s the father of a preteen girl with major issues. Her protective aunt sees right through Drew’s BS, but “Auntie P” is no stereotypical spinster. With her slender curves, toned legs, and luscious lips, she has Drew indulging in fantasies that aren’t exactly family-friendly.

At another point in her life, Peyton Watt would have been all over a cocky alpha male who pushes all her buttons like Drew. Right now, though, she needs to focus on taking care of her niece during her sister’s health crisis, all while holding down a job and keeping her own head above water. Besides, Drew’s clearly no father of the year. He’s unemployed. He drinks too much. And he’s living in the past. But after Peyton gets a glimpse of the genuine man behind his tough-guy façade, she’s hooked—and there’s no going back.

Thank you Kelly Jamieson for writing this super sweet letter for us! I can’t wait to start the search for my kindle so I can finally pick it up! Reviewers hail Kelly as an author who writes “sexy romances with a sweet heat…” just the kind I’m looking for 😉 Check Kelly out at her website for more conversation about her and her books 🙂
